Metronidazole is the main component found in plasma, its metabolite 2-hydroxymethyl is found in smaller quantities. Both the parent substance and its metabolite have bactericidal activity against most strains of anaerobic bacteria and trichomonacid activity.

Manual

every 5 ml contains:

  • Metronidazole benzoate BP eq. Metronidazole 100 mg;
  • Furazolidone BP 30 mg.
  • diarrhea and dysentery caused by protozoa, bacteria or mixed etiology;
  • nonspecific diarrhea;
  • amoebiasis;
  • giardiasis;
  • food poisoning caused by susceptible strains of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

Children under 1 year: 2.5 ml (1/2 teaspoon) every 8 hours for 3-7 days.
Children from 1 year to 5 years: 5 ml (1 full teaspoon) every 8 hours for 3-7 days.
Children over 5 years: 10 ml (2 full teaspoons) every 8 hours for 3-7 days or as directed by a physician.
